The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Crepes!

Hello everyone, and welcome to my very first blog post - and by extension - my very first gaming food experiment for BOSS BATTLE EATS! For today's recipe, I decided to take some inspiration from a game that I've played a lot of recently: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. For those who don't know, The Legend of Zelda is a long running, critically acclaimed and iconic gaming franchise by Nintendo that has been around since 1986. There have been around 20+ entries in the franchise since then, with the last major release (that isn't a remake of a previous game coming in the form of the inspiration of today's recipe - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

As for the recipe/dish, I chose to create a Wildberry Crepe from the game, and I got the idea to make this dish from level1chef.com (you can check his recipe out here: https://www.level1chef.com/legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-crepes/) I eventually ended up deciding on following a different recipe (you can check the recipe I USED out here: http://recipesbycarina.com/french-crepe-recipe/), but level1chef was my initial inspiration for the idea!

So, how does this recipe look in game? And how did my version of it turn out? Well, I can answer one of those things. In the game, the recipe requires Wildberry, Tabantha Wheat, Cane Sugar, Fresh Milk and a Bird Egg - and the recipe appears like this once prepared in game:

In reality, the recipe isn't THAT much different, requiring flour, salt, eggs, milk, melted butter, and of course the toppings (to come later)! All in all, this is a very easy batter (and recipe!) to make, and the whole cooking process easy once you get a hang of preparing the crepes properly. Again, the recipe I followed does a great job of giving you tips and step by step instructions on how to prepare these effectively. Here are some pics of me preparing the crepes from scratch to show just how easy and how little steps it takes to make these:

Now that's all well and good - crepes are easy, who knew? - but how did they turn out for me? Well, I'm pleased to say that the end result turned out amazing! To ensure my crepes were similar to the in game description and picture, once the crepes were prepared, I filled them with whipped creme and raspberries, and served them with syrup on top. I shared my leftover crepes with my roommates, and they too loved the end result! Here are some pictures of how they turned out:

Looks yummy, doesn't it? I encourage anyone reading this who hasn't made crepes before absolutely give it a try, because they are extremely tasty, easy, and don't require anything you likely don't already have in your fridge! I'm really glad that this campaign, and my love of video games in general, have given me an excuse to try new things in the kitchen! Because of how well this first recipe went, I cannot wait to try the rest of my ideas out and try all sorts of new things related to two of my biggest passions. As well, keep any and all ideas you have for video game inspired cuisine coming, because I take note of all of them! (and I just might make one of them someday soon!). Again, thanks for reading, and I look forward to updating you all next week on how my second recipe (to be announced later!) turned out!

Thanks for visiting and reading my first post at BOSS BATTLE EATS!
